I have a 1991 hymer aclass b544.
When i try to use the fridge from gas i dont think it works as the lights dont come on on the switch and my mains dont work. Now to my knowledge the only fuse panel i can find is at the front of the cab on the passengers side in the bulkhead. These fuses all appear to be intact so my question is where the hell is the main fuse for the mains?I dont have a manual in english but have 2 in german:confused::confused:
What the hell is going on:mad:

Anyone know?

Email Hymer in Germany and ask for an English manual and they will send you a file to download and print out in English. I have found them very helpful.

Failing that I would have thought most Hymers of this era would be similar in the habitation wiring and my diagram might give you some clue as to where to look but you wouldn't want to rely on it religiously so if all else fails and nobody else can help I would be willing to email you a copy of my wiring diagram but with no guarantee that it is correct as mine is an S class 670.

From memory aren't there fuses on your electrobox,if its rhd its below the little slide storage to your right as you're seated, there;s a little hole to put your finger in to lift it, sorry if my memory fails me, on my S820 there was a huge fuse attached to the truck battery under bonnet.

Trace the wire from the mains power input on the side of the van to the electroblock (Transformer) There are two trips near mine (S700 1992) and these could have tripped. One is rated 10A the other 5A.

Are the rest of the electric mains sockets working.

The fuses for the 12V operation are from top to bottom
F1 Water Pump TV plug 16A
F2 Switchblock, cookerhood, kitchen surface light, seating group lightscab bed light, driver cab lights, fridge ignition 16A
F3 Fan, Gas Boiler, through lights, spot, shower lights, floor lights, Electrically operated step. 25A
F4 Battery Charger 16A
F5 Fridge 16A
F6 Ammeter (Appliances) 8A
F7 Ammeter/Voltmeter ( + batt 2 second Battery) 8A
F8 Voltmeter ( + First Battery (Starter Battery)) 8A

These are located on the left of the driver under the dash Mine also has a red isolating switch here.

The fuses under the passenger side are the vehicle fuses (lights etc)

Thanks for that info as i did not know the fuse ratings and what the fuses were for:)
I shall have another go tommorow.

hidden

hi there. in my 544 there is at least one trip in space next to the boiler, under the wardrobe, behind the fire. good luck

Well hi there all again,i have got my hymer manual from hymer today, still cant make head or tail of the wiring diagram!!!!
I am not getting power to any of my 220 volt mains supply and have only found the trip next to the boiler which i already knew about, but confirmed that the trip was on,but still no power. If there is another trip switch somewhere then hymer have hidden it well.Come on Derick any ideas!?

Have your mains electrics worked at another location?

Check your mains cable. Is there a fuse in the plug at the other end to the van.

Try switching the trip off. Make sure it is right down then make sure it is right up.

I agree with John, you need to go through the basics,
check the socket you are plugged into, plug in something else,
check the cable with a circuit tester if you can. Or use another cable. These cabkes are notorious for breaking internally.

Don't start pulling the van apart until you are sure you have power getting to the inlet,

Next I would check that I have power at the isolator switches.
