Always wanted to do the Eildon Hills but never seemed to get round to it.
On our last trip we finished up on the C&MC site at Melrose. (Two nights for £33 on their two nights for one winter deal, with leccy and all the rest). So there we where, and we went for it on a great day. We did the Roman fort hill first then the other two hills. Great wee day. You start off by walking up the well known 100 steps and from there it’s well signposted, with a clear path. We also visited the defunct railway station closed after the Beecham report in 1969. The church set up on a hill looked really nice.

Pity they couldn't have used the station when borders railway reopened.
Nice stroll along the Tweed from Tweedbank station into Melrose though

We looked at purchasing that many years ago but opted to start fresh with a plot of land.
