OK, a bit of advice needed here, please.

After a couple of years, I have my campervan just how I like it, bar one small area.

I have a great, toasty warm bed, with my little hot water bottle. However, I have been looking at some form of night heater.

I have and still am looking at the diesel, truck cab type ones, very nice but expensive.

I have a 20 year old water heater combined blown air system (Truma) it is great but getting a little work out now and a battery hungry fan to blow the air about the place.

So, here, finally is my question.

What are my options, I am thinking replacing or reconditioning the water heater/hot air blower and maybe some sort of timer attachment to the switch to provide intermittent periods of heat through the night, as opposed to a diesel night heater.

It really is the final peace in the renovation jigsaw and I would love to get this bit as spot on as the other work that has been done so far.

So, ideas please and or recommendations.

Many thanks

Ed

Biggest problem with blown air heaters is once you stop the blow it all cools down very quickly. We have had both Truma and Alde and the Alde heating is far better. There is a small pump to pump the water round the system and all the space gets heated so there are no cold spots. Certainly not as instant as Truma but with Alde heating everything stays warmer for far longer.

Have you got room for one of the old fashioned caravan heaters? That would be my ideal, but I don't have room...

It's gas only, no electric required.
