I`m planning my trips for next year and haven`t been to Edinburgh for the last 8 years. before that I had been going to the Edinburgh festival and tattoo for 30 years parking on the london Road within walking distance of the castle. i`m planning to go next year but i`ve heard trams now run along princes street, can anyone suggest a parking place within walking distance of the castle also i`ve heard of residence letting out their drives.

I used to stay in the Grange area of Edinburgh and during the festival a few vans used to move into the area. Oswald road, Grange Terrace, Chartelhall road and South Oswald road have unrestricted parking and within walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh.

Best to park safely outside the city and get the bus, train or tram in. Plenty parking around by the Ibis complex area around Ingleston. Tram route very close.

Last time we went we stopped on caravan club temporary site at Dalkeith. Buses every ten minutes. Much safer, the bus fare was good value

The Camping and Caravanning THS at the Drum estate inside the bypass will be open again in August. (Covid permitting) There is usually a very expensive pop up site at Ingleston showground. The other carparks around Ingleston are patolled and no overnighting is allowed now.
