It looks like the battery on my Batribike is kaput. After some googling it seems that a replacement is an eye watering £385 .Does anyone know of a cheaper source for e bike batteries?

Take it apart and have a look inside to see what it is made with, have a google and see what you can buy ?

Just had a look, they are not cheap bikes !

think most battery packs can be rebuilt rather than renewed often with an upgrade in power, if you google rebuild power packs will give you various contacts + video on diy beyond me i’m afraid

I've known of folks who use a couple of 12v sealed motorcycle batteries to power their ebikes

My go to man for batteries is Jimmy at Insat International, in London. Give him a ring on 0208 3611790 and he will advise you the best way to go.

He really knows his stuff about batteries, prices are very competitive, and service is second to none.

Very true - I saved several hundred quid getting my Bosch battery recelled by him a couple of years ago - brilliant service.

I have an older pdq trike and it as a long box to fit over the front wheel, when i opened the box i found 3 yuasa batterys linked together and to buy a replacement was only arround £15 each, the problem i am having is trying to find another PDQ battery box,so if you open the box you may well find the batteries are available they can be golf trolly batterys ect.

It depends on what type of battery you have. If it is an older lead acid one finding replacement batteries is easy, just open the box check the size and terminals and buy replacement units and just swop. Usually they have standard spade connectors so itis very easy. Lithium units are a bit different as there is usually some electronics to manage the batteries. Most bikes have one of the standard bike battery packages and complete units can be bought on Ebay and other places though some suppliers will sell the battery pack to fit in your case. My last lithium battery cost about £200 and has done fine for over 12 months
