Hi got home from Falkirk meet today to find the log book of van came through a few points I realy do think this dealer or there clerical work is very poor.1/ Log book says van is gold van is white 2/ says van has two axils when van is tag with three axils 3/ I’m not sure if weight thing is right so asking for some advice before I scalp them. Photos of vin plate inside door and log book. There’s no mention on the van anywhere of the weight stated on log book 4345 feel a bit daft as I should know this but a problem shared and all that thanks in advance 3C1721E3-5B36-4945-A056-FB07B7762A46.jpg6694FCE7-9DE6-4FA0-88FA-6FA398587E60.jpg. The bit I’ve blacked out is chase number

What a shower of useless Baha’i after round one !

Ding ding round 2 I feel like a right muppet not knowing this having had commercial vans all my life. They don’t have f about wae motorhomes it’s like the Bermuda Triangle.😂

That plate is clear. Below the blanked out line (why?) it is GVW, Max Train Weight (loaded van + loaded trailer) then max load for each of the three axles, front axle first.

The blanked out bit is chase number I’ve had enough crap wae this don’t need some nob having chase number. Why you always looking to be negative or looking for the negative

Bermuda Triangle right enough took this from another dealers website different again 5AABD68A-83E2-45C5-9BBB-CD7C33C8A1E9.jpgits the exact same van

Not that I'd trust any dealers website to be correct, but that seems to confirm the 5400kg max weight is pretty standard, but only 402kg payload! Thats not much on a van that size.
p.s. why have a go at HD? asking why the number is blanked isn't a hanging offence.

I have this hymer s750 the sticker in the front screen states 4.6 tonne and the length is
7.5 metres so maybe the logbook is right

Thanks. Colin regarding having a go if it sounds that way it wasn’t meant but why read through a post and find a problem with it. if it’s blanked out it’s done for a reason and nothing to do with what I’m asking and it dose say in original thread why it’s blacked out don’t want chase number on a website for any nob to get wasn’t calling him a nob

The v5 figure is revenue weight but appears to be correct taxataion class....I would perhaps give SVtech a friendly call and see if they can explain it, furthermore advise who to speak too to get it changed at the headless entity we call DVLA

Perhaps suggest to the dealer they agree to SV sorting things and foot the bill.

Channa

Lots of experience of DVLA from my truck days. If you ran more than 250 vehicles you had a direct dial account manager and it was easy to talk to them.

VIN Plate all correct and as said by others trumps the V5 so that’s what counts. Trucks often have their weight plate changed due to the job they are on and the tax rating.

1. Colour should be correct.
2. No of axles is no big thing as it really doesn’t matter on a motorhome. It’s main use is for trucks where the revenue weight and number of axles affect the tax rate. Both my previous two tag axles quoted 2axles and I never changed them.
3. Your revenue weight should be 5400kg but it’s no big deal as the VIN plate trumps it and the tax rate for that vehicle is anything between 3500kg to 7500kg. Would be nice to be correct but as it’s in the correct tax rate is no big thing.

ps a van moving up above 3500 or going down from above 3500 to below 3501 does matter as it affects the tax rate (not relevant to your van just mentioning).

Cheers Phil that’s kinda what I was thinking but wasn’t 100%. Ive lost all faith in the dealer gonna phone dvla get colour sorted and try to get them to sort the rest. I might drive to a weigh bridge while ive still got van loaded just to see where I am

Everything you say is correct but could become problematic when it comes to selling. As all advise is to check the paperwork matches the vehicle exactly. You could end up with a lot walking away or struggling to trade in .
