They finally reclassified my van as a 'Motorcaravan'!

Now I should be able to get cheaper insurance this year (and 365 day euro cover :cool1: )

:banana::banana::banana:

It took them 6 weeks to tell us no last time, but only 3 weeks to tell us yes this time (i didn't change a thing just resent it :hammer:)

Tax doesn't change, they only change the body type.

In any case if you manage to persuade them to change it from LGV to PLG (unlikely), tax will be more as it is based on engine size, and vans have big engines. LGV is a fixed rate about £200+

They screwed my tax up, dealer registered it as PLG, I had it re-classified to PHGV as it is over 3.5T, tax went down £60 per year

Yes, if you can get PHG that is lower one, but it's quite a rare classification and won't apply to most vans. Usually they are not very keen on changing tax bands even if you change the body, it has to be done when first registered.

if your over 3,500kg its automatic 165 if private . if you up the gvw from 3,500kg again its automatic . sv tec give you papers for a fee if its possible .go to your local dvla its easy . got nothing to do with being a camper ..
