DVD machines are they an improvement
We were given one as a present recently and find it a pain in the b-----?
A DVD recorder player are they all old fashioned or is this the improved digital age designed for my kids and not me
We have to go through about 4 or 5 different screens to set it up to record by then half the program is over
The green light says it is on and a red light says it is working???What nonsense
The video was thrown away when we got it thinking it would no longer be of any use
But at least we could record immediately has any one found it at there tip. I would like it back
Seriously is there an easier way to operate one of these things or is there one with minimal controls I could understand
without all these tiny screens You have to go through instead of a channel number (wots easy to read)
And one that instantly works without all this programming nonsense.
I have heard that in the future we will need a separate Ariel for each gadget unless we use a satellite dish
is that right.
Answers on a postcard please to confused old man

Totally agree, Can;t get into them,Same as the vehicle cd players, much prefer the compact casettes(20 pence each in charity shops):D.

Am I sounding like a bit of a Victor Meldrew?:D:D

no same goes for me but (Victor Meldrew) sounds like a new log in name is in the air ?

I have a Freeview recorder, it has an EPG (Electronic Program Guide) which updates automatically.

When I want to record something I flip on the EPG, scroll to the Channel & program I want to record and press the red Record button.

When I want to watch something I've recorded I press the Archive button and all the programs are there named and dated.

There are no DVDs involved just a Hard Drive like on your computer.

You could use the Sky + system which works just like the freeview recorder but cost a lot more .

There are a number of freeview PVR's which use a hard drive I wouldn't be without ours Some have twin tuners so you can watch one prog whilst recording another or record two and watch a previously recorded program all at the same time. No subscription, and no messing about. I love it.:eek::)
