This is my third Ducato - this one is 2001 model but had a 2003 with the same issue: once you get over 55-60 mph there is a deafening wind noise  from the front quarterlight. Has anyone had this problem or had any luck sealing these? Tried silicone sealant to no avail.

Have you been eating too many baked beans?;)

That smell might not be the Clutch.

If it is more pronounced on the Driver's Side and you have an Ariel attached to the wing, you could try re-positioning it - made a lot of difference on mine. You may even find you could do without it.

I knew it was gonna be dangerous mentioning wind noise...thanks a bunch, maingate! I'm blaming the smell on the yellow lab :(

But thanks for the suggestions guys...no aerial so that one's out, definitely not wheel bearing as all been checked recently....door seal does seem a possible. Hanging out of the window whilst accelerating to said speed proved exciting but inconclusive cos ma lugs were overwhelmed with accoustics (my dad used to say i looked like a wing nut as a baby....great family solidarity we had)....

so next move is to replace the seal I reckon?

Will keep you posted....unless I end up as a splat on the road that is

Hi bodger,

If the noise is just coming from the quarter light area, I have seen it mentioned on forums that you can use a bit of brute force and bend the top of the door inwards.

Apparently you must wind the window down first:D otherwise it can shatter if you are too strong.

On a more serious note, see if you can get any adjustment on the door hinges. It may be possible to loosen the hinge bolts a bit and move the door top half in a bit.

If it goes tits up then I am in the clear as I have warned you of the possible consequences.:p

This problem occurs on coachbuilt bodies.

The body is wider than the cab and this causes a drop in pressure on the outside of the cab door causing it to try to move outwards. The resultant lessening of an adequate seal makes it whistle.

Mine only does it in strong crosswinds so bodger should be able to improve his a bit.

Hmmn - might not just be the window that's whistling after this...bit of extra ventilation for the K9's

Right - deep breath in case this goes r suppward eh? Think I'll try the hinge trick first, then replace the seals before I enlist a friendly hulk to help with the bendy bit. or maybe I'll just try and get it to whistle more tunefully?
