Hi,
I have used this guy, Mike Chubb, down in Chard, Somerset. :) Very good and knowledgable too. He has apparently had Fiat, Citroen, Talbot and Peugeots scince the early eighties. He specialises in mk 1 & mk 2 models. Knows a lot about newer ones too. ;) Check his web site out and ring him. He doesn't show a lot of spares on there but he scraps a lot of these vans and does a lot of reconditioning. I once asked him for the bar at the bottom of the window  and he sent it next day! Very reasonable prices. :p If you have a problem, ring him and he will talk you through it.

Hi Turps, and welcome.
Please do not forget to let us all know what you find out.
I hope you will be able to fix your motor OK
May I suggest that, if you have not allready removed the head you do so before ordering any replacement parts, or are you looking to change the whole motor for a 2.5 td?

Belt change

At what mileage or time are you supposed to change the belt?
I have a 2.5 Ducato with 53K and 9 years old.

I dont know the exact mileage or years for that matter but if I were you I would start to think about getting it replaced very shortly, but be very selective on who you choose to do the work as I have heard of a horror story from my neighbour who used a backstreet garage and the belt fell off on the way home, writing off the engine. Good Luck.

Amazing to think that the weakest link in your engine must be the timing belt.
This flimsy little rubber belt has so much responsibility, does anyone know why the timing chain was done away with?
