Hats off to DVLA.

Driving Licence reminder came last Saturday morning reminding me my over 70 3 year licence was due next Febuary and advising me to apply now filled the on line form Saturday night, surprise surprise in the post this morning my new 3 year licence dated from last Sat to Feb 2021 now that is service for a change.

Well Alf less to worry about, great you had good service for a change. Get out there and enjoy yourself

Well done Alf (and DVLA).

Unfortunately when applying to retain the C1 at age 70, you do not get your full 3 years. They date it from the date they approve the application. I lost over 2 months when I renewed my licence. Mind you, they did process it quickly.

Was it the £10 you slipped in the envelope that had anything to do with it alf.:lol-053:

My application for over 70 retaining all 'granpa' rights was sent back complete within 3weeks,I had even got back the £17 I thought I had to send with requiring a photograph licence for the first time,I booked an appointment with an online medical firm, and there Doctor filled in all the form asking me the appropriate questions all for £58

Mine took 9 months, but I was renewing my C and CE in addition to C1 and C1E.
