We have had to use a sink plunger on ours, I filled the sink with VERY hot water and plunged it down until lear.
The pipe was blocked as the previous owners had poured grease and fat down the sink and blocked the pipe :(

I don't know this Van does it have a grey / dirty water tank?

If it does it may need cleaning out also remove the inlet pipe to the tank and pull it straight before pouring hot water down the sink. Something / grease might be trapped in the bends.

You may have to remove all the waste pipe a piece at a time until you find the blocked section.

No need to dismantle your whole system in most cases. There is obviously a blockage between the U bend and the tank.

Go to Wickes DIY and buy a waste pipe cleaner/rodder. It's like a big spring which is 2 or 3 m long and it will go round right angles in pipes. It's got a corksrew thing on one end and a handle on the other which enables you to rotate the spring. You screw the end into the blockage or push it to break it up. If your pipe run is very long you may need to work from the other end too.

Was the van level. Our sink will not drain if the van is low at the front or to the left. This is due to the rigid pipes with 90º bends. Some of the pipes are horizontal with no fall. That is the way Hymer put them in.

Are the pipes rigid or ridged flexible ones?

Just had a thought that the waste pipe cleaner may not work if you have a very narrow corrugated type hose as I think those spring rods are designed for 1.5 or 1.25 inch waste systems.

An idea ,if you can get at the pipe going into the waste tank, disconnect it and put a garden hose up it and seal with gaffa tape and get some to turn the hose tap on whilst you are in the van! You can then shout 'turn it off' if the water comes through.

:D
Make sure there is someone there with a video camera if you try this one.....
you might earn yourself £250:D

A milk carton will act as a plunger, the neck fits the plug hole nicely.
Cover the overflow with a wet cloth and squeese the bottle repeatedly while holding it firmly over the plug hole until the blockage clears.
Save me a lot of time when the waste blocked during a trip last summer.
