Went to the van this morning to find a little stalactite out of the tap - I always leave it open and typically control it via the pump on/off switch, so maybe a good thing here, who knows - I'll need to turn the heater on to thaw it all out to find out. It's all silicone tubing and the tank was almost empty so I doubt any real damage. (The hot side isn't connected to anything sensible)

Inside the living side was -2°C when I checked... So 2 nights out in it with the outside at -6 then come home and one more night and without me in it, it get a bit chilly... Hey ho!

It's the water in the pipes/pump/boiler that's the problem rather than the tank. Once the big freeze is over I would run the system and check for leaks everywhere and hopefully no damage done.

Always good to leave the taps open!

No boiler (yet) and the van is regularly in-use for 2 nights a week (next is Sunday night) - Friday is looking the warmest (only zero!), so I'll get the heater going to warm it all up and see what its like - I know there wasn't much in the tank (it's only 20l - more than enough for me for 2 nights) but maybe a good idea to pump it all out after every trip..

Cheers,

Ps. Filled up the main fuel tank today - thought I'd buy some screenwash at the same time - but the blue 5l containers outside the filling station shop were frozen solid - not a good sign!

I forgot to leave the taps open and they froze.
Thawed them out and left the shower house dangling and it was just touching the shower tray. Next morning it was frozen to the tray with the water that
had drained out the hose :)

What's the roads like around Jed? going there tomorrow morning.

5 litre bottle of drinking water in the van frozen solid yesterday. It's been minus 6.5 in the van overnight
