Dover port over nighting or nearby

Hi guys,

I booked to do a week in france again during september and wondered if anyone knows of a tidy over night stop for friday night before the satuarday morning ferry?

Marine Drive. From Ferry terminal round-a-bout, take the second left on the A2/M2 direction. (The first turning left is too narrow and also not permitted for MH's. Parking is free from 18:00 hrs to 09:00 hrs. To get back to the ferry, you must turn left, go to the next round-a-bout and back track to the ferry terminal.

we have stopped at marine drive lots of times never had any trouble. free overnight from 6 until 8.
 
I woul drather park up at Marine Parade, as you are a couple of minutes to the Ferry Port and the there always a Police presence for your saftey. Atleast every 1/2 hour a cop car patrols. And it is quiet too.
 
We had trouble with boy racers at the monument last spring at St Margerets. The road up is awful as well. We moved down to Marine Parade as usual in the end.

We've just got arrived back in Spain after a drive through France and Andorra. We stopped at Marine Parade (22 Dec) as the Ferry for that day was going to be over £100 to travel and only £41 for the next Morning (Booked Through The Caravan Club). There was only us and an RV there and some Polish Guy sleeping in his car. There was a police presence and apart from the odd car speeding up the road it was a quiet night.

There are signs showing that only certain parking places are for Caravans etc, but these weren't easy to locate. We decided that these spaces and signs were only for day time use and we just stayed in a Car slot without any problems.

We used the Wild Camping Down load in our Tom Tom Sat Nav and it took us right there. We will use it again.

We've had two or three of these recently - don't remembr any in the past. Is it anything to do with the attempted attack that shut the site down for a couple of days?

More likely a poor attempt to establish themselves on the forum before posting their spam link.
