We are stopping tonight at the Dores Inn, i do not think it is on the pub POI,S
They have not asked for any money but the usual "spend some money in our pub"
nice people, they have said in the summer months it might not be possible.

We are sat looking over Ness, its raining but a cracking spot

Sorry if it has already been added

Heading for the Western Isles Hopscotch 25, say hello if anyone else on the route, starting Ullapool on Saturday in a Swift Escape

We have stayed a couple of times - our "local"! However they used to put the barrier down at night (lock us in!) so not always easy to make a quick getaway in the morning. Alternatives, posted some time ago, are several laybys on the road between Dores and Inverfarigaig. Some more level than others, and the best views of the loch are at this time of year - before the leaves are on the trees.

The famous Nessie hunter (and one of my heroes!) Steve Feltham has had his old campervan parked in the Dores Inn car park for around twenty years now without being moved on, so you should be ok there for a night or two, with the landlords' permission of course!

BTW, I was impressed when he told me that he still hasn't had a "sighting" even after all this time. I'm sure that most other people would've "invented" a story by now, and wouldn't have been so honest as him! (which reminds me of the nights that I spent beside the loch.............) :)

(PS. A serious reminder to anyone who drives a campervan in that area... Beware "The Corkscrew" at Inverfarigaig!!:scared:)
