Dometic Fridge Problem

Hi everyone,

In our Knaus Sun Ti motorhome we have a Dometic RM7295L fridge.

On 12v it works wonderful.
On gas it works wonderful.

Now when we hook it up to mains electricity it doesn't work well.
The fridge doesn't get cold and the freezer thaws out.

Now I have been told to look for fuses, main plugs etc.
Can't find any anywhere for the fridge.
All the main cabling for the fridge runs into electrical connector blocks.

So does anyone have any ideas why the fridge is wonderful on 12v and gas, but not on mains and if anyone has any ideas we would be very grateful.

I have left a message with a dometic engineer, but haven't had any reply yet.

Many thanks to anyone who answers our post

The RM7295L is an AES fridge, meaning that it should automatically switch to mains operation when a mains supply is available.

There are three possibilities:
1) The mains supply isn't reaching the fridge, possibly due to a fuse or circuit breaker tripped, or a disconnected cable.

2) The AES system isn't working

3) The AES system is working but the mains element is blown

You should be able to check yourself for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, otherwise it's probably a job for the professionals.

Take off the lower fridge vent and look around. There are some fuses. Theres also one in the black box under the seat but that could be for 12v. We had a problem where ours wouldn't run off the alternator - the AES widget was sick.

And the green light should be on if fridge is getting mains... doesn't mean it's working though...

As above, my moneys on the element, about £30 and easy if you know what you are doing.
Depending on how its fitted you can remove the external vents and replace it through them.
If you are not 100% sure of what you are doing and dont know how to use a multimeter etc dont attempt it.

Hi everyone,

After leaving another message the Dometic engineer called me this morining and I think he said it was something to do with the mains regulator, or something like that

Anyway he is coming to look at it next Tuesday morning :)

I'll let you know hwat was wrong and if it got fixed.

Many thanks for all your help :D
