Travelling in Eastern France and discovered fridge not working on gas. Not sure if igniting. Works on car battery when driving.
How do I access the flame and any hints on cleaning?
I am attaching a photo. The ignition seems to be behind the metal box marked. Any hints before I try and get the cover off?
Thanks

The box marked hides the burner, there should be a short phillips screw to the left side holding it on then it pivots about a tab on the right of it, if you have a aerosol of air then you can blow it clear, they tend to get rust and other debris falling on them.

Many, many thanks, Pudsey! I took the cover off and everything looked quite mucky around the burner. I cleaned around it as best I could and got a good flame and it all seems to work.
We are in France for another three weeks so it a great relief to be able to use gas as we like to use aires etc. Will get the system thoroughly cleaned by experts when we get home.
We have an annual habitation service and I thought keeping the burners clean was part of that. I don’t think it could have got that mucky since March.
Many thanks.

I was very glad to help, this is what forums are all about for me with a bit of banter and silliness in between.

Hab checks vary, some won't touch anything & it's just an inspection so you need to specify what you expect to be done if anything is found.

I meant to link to this in my last post but forgot, I usually have one of these in the van specifically for cleaning the burners as rough roads make rust fall down the chimneys on older vans.

Basics - check that you have gas and that cooker burners work.
check that the fridge valve is switched on at the internal manifold

Next step
Does the fridge light and then go out or not light at all?..
Get someone to look at the burner unit whilst you are holding the gas button in and pressing the igniter.
Can you here it clicking (If not there could be a problem with the igniter - is 12 v turned on or is the igniter battery flat)
Some fridges use the MoHo 12v, some have a battery build in)

If the gas lights but goes out when you stop pressing the button you have a thermocouple issue. Usually faulty or not in flame.

Does the fridge work on EHU?

Fridge Model would help?

Lots of thermocouple and burner cleaner vids on You Tube.

He's fixed it already.
