An odd one. After three and a half weeks in North Devon hooked up we left this morning for the long drive north. A couple of minutes into the drive we could hear a beeping. It went off after a minute or so and then started again a few minutes later. Its not the door / light alarm as I disconnected that weeks ago as it goes off when it feels like it. So we left the fridge switched off the entire journey. Tried it on the 12v system when we arrived and it beeped again. Worryingly when we hooked up after a minute or two it beeped again. Left it off for a while and this time I switched it on and immediately put it onto the electric setting (not auto) and its now not beeping.

Just wondering if others have had similar and what it might be. My immediate thoughts were maybe its a low voltage alarm but there is nothing wrong with the engine battery or perhaps a dodgy sensor.

Thats as far as I have got with it. Any thoughts?

Make and model of fridge.
Do you have a manual.
Video of beeping with sound. (some things beep in a pattern to define the fault)

How did you determine it is the fridge and not low water etc.

Is fridge AES?
Was it on "Auto" when beeping ?

So we left the fridge switched off the entire journey.
Is that set to the "off" on the energy selector switch

Tried it on the 12v system when we arrived and it beeped again.
Was the engine running ?

12v or 230 v electric. Was EHU connected?

Sounds like you may have been losing power intermittently from engine Barry.
I take it you either run it in auto when driving or battery.
This could be a loose connection or poor fuse fitting.

Cheers. I think. :D

I'll dig out the manual tomorrow. It doesn't show a model number on the fridge itself. It will be the original Dometic, Around 2015.

The thing is it did it on hookup as well when we arrived otherwise I would have agreed with Bill that it was maybe losing power from the Engine.

Its most definitely the fridge though.

When we switched it off it was properly off. Holding the power button in until all the lights went off.

It seems fine now though.

Its a mystery.

your fridge number should be inside the fridge on the bottom of the rear panel. Yiu may have to remove the bottom tray to access it. I would take a photo for future reference.

Never had one of those fancy fridges but I read it’s a problem on 12v? Is it low voltage at the fridge if so, does it have a low voltage led as well as a buzzer?

Don't know but it was doing it on hookup when we first got here until I turned it all off and on again. 😁 It's been fine all last night and today.
