Hi, The Murvi has a Dometic RM7405L 97litre fridge freezer fitted. It is just 2 years old so I was surprised when last week the plastic door catch broke, locking the door. I started working on it with a screwdriver while Madam & her friend looked on wondering how long before I could get lunch out of the fridge. Took me 15 minutes of sweat & swearing.

Having examined the piece it simply is not fit for purpose & Murvi tell me that Dometic have upgraded this particular catch.

I have a spare arriving ( free ) which I shall strengthen before fitting. Anybody else had a problem with this model ?

Yes - twice in three years! The first time it cost so much to replace (about £10 for a tiny slip of plastic) that when it went again I didn't bother to replace it. We now travel with a metal pin in the top "hinge" (where you can swap the side that the door opens) and it works fine. Hope that last bit makes sense - I am not a very technical person!

Hi, £12.17 + postage is the current going rate. I also have been using metal pin
(blunted nail) to do the job.
This particular fridge sells at around £800, so for this item to go so soon is ************ annoying.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me about motorhomes is that bits that cost 100s of pounds seem to depend on weakest links that are crap.
