hi all its me again, been out doing some work on the van again, the van is fitted with a zig cf 2000,when switched on to car every thing works fine but when i switch it on to caravan nothing works, i have a leisure battery fitted and theres power in it and it seems to be charging ok , i find that if i disconnect the van battery it runs off the caravan battery is this how it works or is there something wrong with it as i say i,am new to this, fatgaz.

This is not how it should work.

If you have the rocker switch towards the 'Hab' or 'Leisure' Battery this should work and allow you to be parked up with your habitation lights on without draining your engine battery.

If disconnecting the van battery at the battery terminals then allows the leisure battery to work this would indicate a problem of some sort.

If it was me I would check all the basics first. Fuses and that the leisure battery is connected the right way around
