We took the dogs to the vets yesterday in Éclaron, worming & health check. It's always sad as it marks the last few days of a trip, but it's a weight off my mind when it has been sorted.

I start looking for a vet once we are 5 days from blighty and the clock is ticking. I'm certainly happy with this bill of €46.82 for both of them.

Now we just have a couple of nights at Bellicourt before our last stop at our favourite Montreuil sur Mer, before going through the tunnel.

But there's no mer 🤪!
I have had someone back home ask me if it has a nice beach.
It is the only place in France we have returned to multiple times. Last time I got bad vertigo up on the ramparts, so I'll stay away from the edge this time.

I'm looking forward to a nice meal in the town.

Sounds a lot cheaper than the UK vets.

Two years ago in Normandy we paid 33Euro (£29 approx) for worming pill and signing the EHC with a very pleasant chat thrown in. I can't walk in the door of my home vets for less than £40!

I always say that the closer you get to the channel ports, the more it costs.
From memory Honfleur was €40 ish for one JRT about 10 years ago.

I paid €51 at Honfleur for Timber (8 kilos) in April this year.

It was. We haven't been going there for the last few years, but our Spring trip was shorter than we had hoped (jury service) so we went there for convenience.

I've been toying with the idea of using the vet near the aire in Calais.

This is usually our last stop when heading home, before getting the tunnel,
But a couple of weeks ago it was a bit of a tight squeeze, as over the years it seems to have become more popular

I am guessing as you mention the ramparts are so high it will be the same one, it is just over 40 miles from the tunnel
1 hour
Yes, that's the one. It's been favourite of ours for quite a few years. We've been lucky lately and have bagged a space on the actual aire, rather than the car park. Mind you, we always go through the tunnel midweek these days.

It's the only place in France we've ever run into fellow wildcampers, @Jo001, David, and the lovely Timber.
