Do I have to have a carbon monoxide check?

I just had a thought about the boiler in our motorhome.

Should I get a gas check on it? If so would it be just a normal corgi registered guy that I call?

cogi dont exist any more and gas safe dont do private m,homes . you may find someone with acops to do it . but its getting harder and harder to find them, others can do it ,but if your insurer wants it then it as to be acops. cheers alan.

An inspection is only good for as long as the inspector takes to walk out the door. Movement and vibration in vehicles means you need inspectors on duty 24/7.
All motorhomes with gas appliances should have an LPG alarm (usually powered off the leisure battery so need to stop it running the battery flkat when parked up for long periods) mounted down near the floor, and a CO alarm mounted high near the sleeping area. A smoke alarm (with hush button) - photoelectric type suitable for kitchens - will complete the protection. Add a fire extinguisher or two and a fire blanket as well.

as for carbon monoxide checks ,if you get someone to do the check for you it only shows that all is ok at that moment ,and not a few days later .the only safe way to go is fit a c/o detector they are cheap enough then you know you are safe 24/7. we always have one fitted and you will be supprised how often and how quick your van can become a danger especialy when cooking, no one should use there van without a detector fitted (make but then again if you dont fitt one, one day you may not get the chance)

CO detectors were on offer in Tesco a couple of days ago - something like £8.99or £9.99 instead of about £25!
