diesel pump vw t4 autotrail apache

hi, are there any quick fix to stop my diesel pump from leaking,i know its coming from the spindle at the top of the pump,has anyone else had same problem,i got another pump from ebay ,but waiting for nice weather to fit, as van to big for my garage,it looks like a big job to repair, has anyone manage to find a product to stop it leaking as its leaving small puddles of diesel everywhere i go .

thanks for that info,looks like a common fault on the vw t4,but no magic cure,looks like im getting my hands dirty next weekend,
