Diesel prices in Europe

I mentioned yesterday the diesel price was 1.10€ per litre, only to find the price today is 1.12€ per litre. And this is a supermarket price.
What is going on?
It would be nice to know what other members pay in their respective county and/ or country.

There is a French engineer (ex formula 1) who has developed an engine on compressed air, and he has already commercialised a few small cars. I am looking impatiently for a larger engine to fit in a motorhome!

Here in Australia we pay around $1.20 per litre of Diesal. I think this is around .79 euros
