Diesel Prices in Europe.

Hi Guys,
We are going out to Germany next week, to do the Rhine Valley, starting around Koblenz. Does anyone know if it will be worth our while to go about 80 miles out of our way to go through Luxembourg to get fuel, or should we just go straight through southern Belgium into Germany. We are going over on Eurotunnel.
Also, any known stop-overs along the route would be much appreciated.
Thanks to all.,
Jackie :)

hi.go to luxemburg then take the mosel river up to koblenz.then forget the rhine mosel is really nice and i prefer it. lots of free parking by river and very often a big m,bike get together in cochen on a sunday.have good time very nice area.

diesel in luxembourg

Last trip we were in Trier (top end of Mosel valley) and only a few kms from Lux border - we went over the river (Ralingen I think) and huge number of filling stations with diesel at 1.00 Euro/litre (2010 prices) was 20 cents cheaper than Germany. Best end of Mosel and you can run NE towards Koblenz (take 2-3 days) There are stellplatz in every village - superb locations and 4-5 Eu per night

Last time we were in Luxembourg we tuned into Radio Luxembourg. The reception was still rubbish...

@ smokers and coffee drinkers

Zigarettes and coffee are remarcable cheaper in camparison LUX/GB

@beer drinkers
buy your beer in LUX. In Germany there is a deposit on glass bottles of € 0,08 and on cans and plastic bottles of € 0,25. Same applies for most soft drinks.

saarburg

just over from luxemburg is SAARBURG on the river saar.

there is a stellplatze right beside the river just outside the town 6euros a night or 5 euros if you stay over 3 nights.
there is an aldi just up the road and also a rewe supermarket.

from saarburg it's just a short hop up to trier (2 stellplatze) and then along the mosselle up to koblenze where you meet the rhine.

as stated stellplatze everywhere on the mosselle and rhine.

why worry about the price of fuel the trip will be fantastic and well worth any expence:dance:
