I put a post on a while back about the new system at Calais after we came back through it on the 2nd June.
Going from Dover 4 weeks earlier there was terrible queues even at 06.00 am so coming back we decided to arrive at Calais in plenty of time for our 11.15am sailing to find that the Check In / Passport Control / Border Control area was now completely new and there was only about a dozen vehicles in front of us.
Brilliant we thought even though we were well early for our ferry if we have to wait at the queue lane no problem, kettle on and and have something to eat whilst waiting
Got that completely wrong because it still took ages to get through then when we arrived at the head of the queue lane for our 11.15am sailing the loader waived us straight on to the one that was just finishing loading even though our loading pass was for the next ferry
We could hear the ramp going up before we`d left the vehicle deck and felt movement before we`d sat down up on Deck 7 on the almost empty ferry.
