Decision time, get wet here or catch a ferry to get wet.

I've had the camper for about 6 weeks now and covered 1600 miles, so I'm more confident about heading farther afield, but I wish the jetstream would get back on course and stop messing up our weather patterns.

I love Scotland, but it's a long way down if the weather is rubbish, so the alternative is to drive to Dover get the £29 ferry to Dunkirk, then decide which direction to take. We're planning on being away for a month, then possibly coming back and starting up the east coast from Dover and heading up to north Norfolk. The worrying thing is that there appears to be some sort of sporting event on just as we get back, so ferries might be a bit full.

I've driven in France before in a right hand drive Land Rover and speak just enough French and German to get around. My favourite expression in German is 'Mein auspuff ist kaput.' , which means my exhaust is broken, only the Germans could call an exhaust an 'Auspuff'

I don't do hot weather, so I won't be heading too far south unless rain stops play, in which case I'll head for anywhere dry...

I went to Portugal once.

It was the year of the forest fires across Europe and the temperature was 42 degrees.
