For what they charge to fit them I would just pay, it looks easy but isnt, bit like plastering

Probably the understatement of the year :D

Imagine trying to wrestle an octupus covered in cooking oil and that doesn't take into account the wind that always seems to start just as you go to place the B. things on your van...

Decals

I've used decals on my van from ebay, found them easy to fit, look pretty good and very cheap compared to a signwriter effort!

Also tried tinting which was a disaster and impossible to fit!

hehe the van was from ebay or the decals? :D

what size was the decal and any problems or 'hindsight' advice?

Decals

Ebay have a wide selection of all different sizes, all measurements included on page and easy to fit. Mountains, birds of prey, shapes, patterns of all types, they will also make your design if you want. There is also specific van manufacturer designs, quite extensive, Red Indian heads to eagles!

Get a local signwriter to make them.

To remove old decals use a hair drier and peel them off.

To fit the new ones wet the area with water and fairy liquid, you can then easily slide the decals into position and remove any air bubbles with a brush or wet rag rubbing them over.

Once dry, they will stick.
