Just an idea from the cycling forums I am members of.....

Why doing you have a "How it went" pinned thread or a "tell us about your last trip" thread?

This could be great inspiration for those wanting to travel but who lack the enthusiasm or knowledge to do a trip....

Just an idea....

John

PS first trip in the new van could be this Friday and I'm happy to share my trip details after the event

Providing it doesn't involve spandex, riding two abreast , this lot get a bit hot under the collar on these topics, :scared:

Sounds like a good idea...
The thread, not the massed cyclists, that is.

Our main road ,The N270, runs across the Algarve, through the hills. A truly testing cycle route.
Over the winter, professional teams base themselves here and train daily, with motorised support in attendance.
Added to that amateur cyclists use the same route and there's holiday companies, providing package holidays on two wheels.
We've had a few hairy moments, negotiating the bends and hills in the van.

Please forget the cyclist bit of my post it was just to say that others have a "How our trip went" sticky threads and I was wondering if there was a call for one in here

John, I hope you did not take offence, I notice a member for just over a month ,no idea how long a lurker. What you will find is this eclectic rabble myself included have a peculiar sense of humour at times.

Good luck with your first trip, many members enjoy reading of others travels,

Re the cycling bit I cycle myself ( or did) up until recently regularly road with the great Brian Robinson a true gentleman, He can still whip us young uns into shape albeit his bike electrically assisted nowadays. Often forgets his charger and leaves us baffled just as to how much he uses assistance.!

A few cyclists in our ranks so a few people would enjoy reading about that too, If you are UK based April next year it is the Brian Robinson challenge in these parts invariably Holme Moss climb involved a good day out either as a spectator or participant. Two hours to Liverpool so a good weekend for the diary.

Have fun

Long term motor homer (rented them many times in the past) so experienced.
Finally got our first van that ticks all of our boxes.
So when I say it will be the first trip in your new van I mean just that.
It will not be our first campervan trip.....
Forget the cycling bit... I wish I'd never mentioned it ;-)

Simple question.
Is there or will there be a "How it went thread" anywhere?
