Dealer experience?

I was just thinking.....(ouch) but most of us have bought our M/Hs from dealers, taken them back to have faults rectified or to have them serviced.
I thought it would be good to have a thread or page for us to share our experiences good or bad, so that those of us about to change vans or to purchase new would be pre informed of the dealers out there and how we have faired dealing with them........... I know I have dealt with two one good and one ...... well just ask Cipro. My experiences will follow.

Better make it a page, it would soon get filled and that will be with all the bad stuff.

Not ALL bad...I bought my van off Rapido motorhomes Nr Wokingham...cannot praise them enough....absolutely fantastic company.....nothing is too much trouble...service second to none...what more can I say !

You won't get any probs off any dealer untill you have a problem that is not an easy fix I also have found that the bigger they are the worse they are. Like " oh sorry I will pass it on to the relevant person please give me you number and we will get back to you" sound familiar:eek::mad:

bought a coachbuilt Granduca from don amott, derby in 1994. Loads of problems. wrote a letter to the boss. got a phone call to take it back there & 'you can have whatever you want'. everything was fixed.

imported a new LHD toyota hiace van from belgium in 1998. had it converted to a MH by devon conversions. a couple of very minor faults that were immediately fixed. very satisfied customer.

bought a new coachbuilt hymer from campirama, belgium, in 2005. £12,000 pound less than brownhills quoted me. had a leak from a roof seal. took it to campirama at the start of a trip. they said it was a screw that hadn't been sealed at the factory & said they had fixed it. the leak returned some months later and as i didn't have a trip over the water coming up i had it repaired properly locally. cost me a couple of hunded pounds but when i bought abroad i figured that i would have most problems fixed over here and knock it off the £12,000.

i would use all 3 again if they had what i wanted.

haven't used any of them for servicing. i prefer to find smaller companies to do that sort of thing as i find they take more care.
