Davy Jones ...

The Monkees was a little before my time, but I did see a musical in London called "The Point" in the late 70's in which he starred with Mickey Dolenz. A great talent... he had perfect pitch as a vocalist and was much more than the tambourine player and teenage heartthrob he was put up as.

One of the tributes I saw read:

I'll meet you at the station ...

Very poignant.

Thought my girlfriend was winding me up when she told me about Davy Jones.....then I saw her face...now I'm a believer!

Davy Jones

Davy RIP

I do feel some of these comments are in poor taste, It's not Davy Jones fault that he belonged to a group of people who could not play a note of music and he had to work with Circus Boy and Puff and Stuff. I feel that if he was a member of WCC he would chuck his toys out of the pram:baby::baby: and threaten to leave, now how do you all feel bad.I think you are" Very Naughty boys"and not the Sun of God. :king::king:

Have a nice day Snowbirds.:wacko::pc:

Has passed away BBC News - Davy Jones of The Monkees dies aged 65

I loved the TV series 'The Monkees' when I was growing up, and their music was proper pop :)

He'll be missed.

RIP

Another sad loss for the world in my opinion. The Monkees' music always reminds me of happy times! I only remember seeing the repeats of their TV shows (due to my tender age) but I hope they're shown again before too long.

I still have a few of their vinyl LP's stashed somewhere in my loft, but don't worry, I'm not going to ask for technical advice on fitting a record-player in my van, as I also have them on CD!

From their songs that I've played recently, I'd say that Davy Jones singing "I Wanna Be Free" might be appropriate at this time?

RIP Davy Jones.

would deffo have thought this guy would have gone to heaven?? but no the other way:scared: he's just been named as the manager for the owls in sheffield :lol-053::lol-049:
