Darker windows

I was sat in Asda's car park yesterday having a cuppa ( like you do ) while my girlfriend did her weekly shop .

Minding my own business disturbing no one and reading the paper I kept getting harassed by other shoppers wanting to have a look inside the van , not being an antisocial sort I put the paper down and duly shown the few who were passing .
But It occurred to me that if they could not see through the windows and see me they would just have walked past and I would not have been disturbed from my all important earl grey .

So I dug around my shed to find that half a roll of window tint film that has been sat there since my last van conversion .

Half an hour later and I don't need a do not disturb sign .

just a thought.do people realise that seitz window blinds are better pulled up rather than down like house blinds for this very reason. when its half up nobody can see in. luckily if anybody has put theirs in the other way its not hard to change

Before we got the motorhome we had caravans and always turned the blinds upside down so that the blackout/silver blind moved from the bottom of the window, up, so we were able to shut off the bottom of the window of light.
Never could understand why manufacturers installed their blinds the wrong way up.

Good job. You did well to fit on a curved surface without creasing :)

I've done tinting before, but my results have never been A1, so on my present self build I got them tinted professionaly with the window supply. 80/20 tint with curtain behind makes for a black mirror glass finish, and with curtain drawn, lets a good amount of light in.

The curved surface is on the outside but the flat one ( the one I tinted ) is on the inside .

If the window was curved inside I would not have tried to tint it ,

As an MOT inspector I was VERY glad to see you didn't tint the front cab windows! You can however go up to a 30% block as opposed to 'Limo Black' that's 80% block!

With regard to tinting curved windows such as tailgates to keep the shopping etc out of sight, the trick is to stick it on the outside with water, then with a hot air gun stretch and smooth it out, allow to cool then pull off, now when you remove the backing you'll have a concaved sheet of film which with plenty of soapy water will now fit the shape of the curved glass - Simples!

We were in the back of our dub having lunch and some people came by and looked in the drivers window. The look of embarrassment was priceless when they saw us. Our side and back windows are blacked out and they had no idea we were in there. Good job we were decent :shag: not that we would
Stormy...

I have never seen blinds drawn from the top all the vans we have had its been flyscreen at the top and blinds at the bottom

Best thing ever having window tints. Sit in the back and no-one knows your there unless they look through the front windows.

And with the curtains drawn its still nice and dark in the morning for that lie in!!
