Whenever I book a Calmac ferry I am always impressed by their customer service when you ring up, nothing is to much trouble and always polite. Based in Scotland not New Deli.
Right, that got that of my chest !

Going to Islay 30th March - 8th April

customer service only exists when you need to apply for a job,,,, after that it's straight out the window

We got some new contractors on a job I was on. One of them was Scottish and a lovely natured lad.

Unfortunately, it was impossible to hold a conversation with him without falling about laughing at his accent.

The reason ? .................

........ he is the only Scotsman I have ever met whose accent was exactly the same as Russ Abbott doing 'Jimmy the Scotsman'. :lol-049:

As a very regular Calmac user, I'm afraid you are wrong.
Their customer service both on the phone, in the terminals and on board is always excellent.
I've a severly disabled wife and the help and support we have received from Calmac staff has been both generous and genuine.
Calmac prides itself on this and has a policy of constantly reviewing staff procedures.
The "Customer comments" forms freely available on board are all read and, as I know from my one complaint to the company, are taken very seriously.
Without going into the actual details, a senior manager phoned me at home to get more information, apologised on the phone and then sent me a written apology with details of the actions they were taking.
Don't get that very often elsewhere!
