hi all,
can anyone tell me what is the cheapest way to get to france, (dover calais).
I looked on aferry, it qouted me £75, ferries.co.ukquoted me £68.75.
Anyone know how I can get it any cheaper.
Cheers, Pete.

Try Sea France and Norfolkline direct Pete you should get it cheaper also if in caravan clubs they say the will beat most quotes. You dont say when your going but you can play about with times on both sites to get the best prices

Hi, if you are not to worried about it being calais then you can get a cheaper ferry with Norfolk line to Dunkirk, from calais

Rattle

Now unlike Rattle, we've just had our holiday booking changed from Dunkirk to Calais for EXACTLY the same days and times and they've knocked £47 OFF!! (Was Norfolkline, now Seafrance).

whats m.h.f.?plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:p
Its Motorhome Facts and members discount of 10% worth the £10 membership for that alone but mixed feeling about the site itself.

I must be pressing the wrong buttons, Norfolkline said £202, 17th -21st sept 09. 6m long, 3m high,
P & O said £150
I looked on ferries.co.uk, P&O , same info, £68.75.
aferry.co.uk, with seafrance said £75.00
Eurotunnel was £112.
All prices are return.
Just got to wait and see if Belgian gets some dates sorted.
Cheers, Pete.

To get the best and cheapest deals, you really do need to book early

Best wishes

Don

Keep trying with times and dates till You get the best price. We always get the best deal with the Caravan Club.

p&o wins this time

Hi just got booked with p&o £68.00 return in september .you can arrive 2 hours early or late with no extra charge if they have room on the ship.Have used everyone else before never crossed with p&o, I was pleased with l.d. lines to boulogne but they are a bit expensive at the times i wanted.
regards terry

Whichever ferry you book, try choosing the cheapest one of the day (usually at an unsocial hour) and then turn up several hours earlier (when the prices are listed as much higher). Unless it is a peak period, they will put you on the next boat. We always do this and have never been made to wait. It usually costs us about £30 - 40 to cross the channel one-way. But ALWAYS book ahead - if you just turn up they charge an arm and a leg.

From our recent experience, the cheapest crossings are usually to be found with Norfolkline, Dover east docks to Dunkerque. If you book a little ahead you can get some good deals.

The very cheapest way to go is via the tunnel using Tesco vouchers - I can get there for nothing !! (Tesco deals = 4 times value of voucher)

Just how much do you have to spend at Tesco to obtain enough vouchers for your crossing then?

may be seeing this a large web forum admin could drum up some sort of discount for members
as we hope may happen with insurance companys

ferry prices

I booked with P&O for this sunday 27 coming back 19/10 and it cost me £68.75 return. I think you are pressing the wrong buttond:D:D

I spend about £100.00 a week at Tesco, and at the moment they give double points so I get £2.00 a week value of vouchers, which on deals is £8.00 per week so a crossing of £80.00 takes me 10 weeks to save for - and it's free money. If I'm out and about in the van we use more diesel, so could raise the weekly spend. I do all my shopping at Tesco, you can even use a Tesco CC and get the points that way - worth looking into.:D:D
