Just applied for Autotrail Frontier on euro 4 engine 2011 built registered 1/6/12 but crit air coming back from France as 2. Any idea why. No class given on V5C. It is 5T but should it not be M1 anyway .

The Crit Air is fundementally flawed. My 1996 Dethleffs got a number 2 because it was imported from Germany in 2004,the date of first registration on the V5C is 2004 and nowhere on the application does it ask for year of manufacture, in fact I didn't need to apply for a sticker for a 1996 vehicle!

"The color of the Crit’Air vignette is decided by the EURO norm, which is indicated in the papers of the vehicle. If the EURO norm is not indicated, then the date of the vehicle’s registration will be taken as a reference."

Who will get which Crit'Air Colours? – Crit-Air.fr

So for a diesel category M1 first registered on or after 01/01/2011 and no Euro classification on the V5 they will assume Euro 5/6 - Vignette Class 2.

I wouldn't knock it, as the alternative would seem to be that your vehicle is ineligible to be registered under the scheme.

A French system flawed !

Where is Wint****n when you need an argument !

As this, we have a euro4 van, but it came back with the sticker of a euro5 due to it being registered in 2011.

Deneb - brilliant. There is me being dumb. Thank you.

Most informative, I think I have it.

My motorhome is plated at 4000Kg so will be classed as a truck (over 3.5t)
It is diesel and was registered in January 2007 so it will be classed Crit-Air 4

If I have that right I have one question. I have a blue badge but unless things have changed I cannot reclassify my motorhome in disabled class st the moment as I already have that used on my Motability car.

In this instance does the fact I have a blue badge make any difference to the Crit-Air 4?

so as I was emailed an invoice with copy of disk etc I wonder if this will be good enough to put in the window until we get the proper one? Cheers.

If you read the email that came with the Invoice it says you can use it as proof.

Yes, although you don’t need to put the email on your window. Just show it to whomever might question you.
