Just in case it hasn't been posted, popped up to Cow Green Resevoir in County Durham and noticed a new sign "Due to rubbish and waste being left, no overnight camping" Its a council sign I think.
Oh well Little England got a little smaller. Shame,it was a cracking spot to wild. Why dont people take their £$%^ home. Best remove it from the POI.

Same £$%^ different day! Why can't people stop being animals & just clean the he'll up after themselves? Won't be long before it all goes bad & camping gets consigned to the history books if folk don't wise up soon. Our own worst enemies as my grandad used to say.....

The reservoir will be owned/managed by a water company I imagine.

It is they who are likely to have erected the signs.

As ever this presents a dilemma. Typically we park, we don't camp ...

Been recommending this to a few friends so that will save me from saying a few words in future .

Damm was a canny spot...

LT man

Northumbrian water are the owners.
It’s one of the most popular reservoirs in Teesdale for walkers and typically there is always at least 1/2 a dozen cars parked up when I visit.
One of my favourite poi’s and I often stopover on route to the lakes. Sadly no more, 😩😩😩

I did have one daft thought, Does "no overnight camping" mean that people only dump rubbish at night! Must be very clean humans during the day turning crazy at night and throwing rubbish around. Or people wait till its dark, set up fires, dump waste when no ones being seen.

Have used that site regularly, suggest most rubbish is generated by the significant number of day trippers who use the site.
I doubt its Council by the way most likely the Water Company or the local grouse moor owner I think the Raby estate. Its all a bit feudal in the wild country, or did you think we live in a free country.

I should have taken a picture. Its got a sign with a tent and motorhome on it, red line through both and from what I recall no overnight camping. It does give reasons, waste and rubbish being left sadly.

The pictures on the sign confirm what is not permitted.

It's private land so the owner can impose whatever restrictions are desired.

I'll remove it from the POIs.

Why don't we take the initiative and park up and tidy up I know a lot of younger full timers do just that, because the authorities assume it's them making the mess in the first place, just a thought
Ps I do this on my local beaches regularly

It's what a LOT of us do anyway (always have done)

sadly there's usually some NED arriving not long after we've left
