I was stuck for ideas for our next trip and received lots of helpful and interesting ideas https://wildcamping.co.uk/threads/where-next-inspiration-needed.99795/, thank you.

Our current thinking is to go through France to the Mediterranean islands and back through Italy. I have been doing some initial planning, leaving late April for around 60 days, with four ferries for the islands -
• France – Corsica. Ferry Toulon - Ile Rousse
• Corsica – Sardinia. Ferry Bonifacio - Santa Teresa di Gallura
• Sardinia – Scilly. Ferry Cagliari – Palermo (only one sailing a week on Saturdays)
• Scilly – Italy. Ferry Messina - Villa San Giovanni
Some questions for those of you have spent time on the three islands.
• How long to spend on each of the islands? I know that there is no right answer to this as it all depends on what you want to see, I am thinking of around 10 days on each island.
• When is it likely to get too hot for living in a white tin box, current plan would see us in Scilly late May, early June?
• How is wildcamping on the islands?
• Any other thoughts?

I did Nice to Corsica,Corsica to Sardinia and back to Genoa in Sep./Oct 2019. Fantastic trip. I would save Scilly for next time you visit Cornwall.
Wildcamping is tolerated in a few places on Corsica but not really encouraged, I managed ,but did a few sites as well.

We went to Corsica and Sardinia in 2018.
Enjoyed both islands. Sardinia has a few aires, The ones we stopped on were free including one with free electric.

We wild camped in Croatia, no aires when we were there. It was possible to get drinking water from water fountains in the mountains.

Sicily is large with lots of historic sites and places to visit. We spent 3 months there! 10 days totally insufficient.
Sardinia is absolutely fine for wilding.
Corsica has beautiful scenery but all the restaurants had virtually the same menu (early summer). Used campsites and whole vibe was more touristy and less free.

We had 3 weeks in Sicily a couple of years ago.

If I did it again I would choose 3 campsites - one each north, south and west - and then keep the MH there and rent a car.

We did something similar across 2 campsites (north and south) and were very glad we did given the state of the roads; the state of the driving; sometimes difficult parking; and the small, hard to get to places which would be impossible in the MH.

Visited Sicily a few years ago . Brilliant place . Crazy people .
Parked all over the island , think only one campsite , unfortunately can't really remember locations .
Did spend a weekend parked at the waterfront in Catania. Also in a backstreet near the centre in Palermo

June is going to be hot period, we visited Corsica Easter 2015 and it was hot enough for me then!

Cracking scenery but for us the best bits were up in the hills, some still had snow on them, wild Cyclamen were in flower in several places which we wouldn’t have seen later in the year.

I don't doubt that but for us part-time travels such things are a compromise. I once worked with someone who every year returned to the same place for the annual family holiday and every year they found themselves focusing on an even smaller area.

How would it be in a 6m PVC? If a delivery van can get somewhere we normally can but parking can be a challenge once we get there.

Better than our 8.7m leviathan!

I'd be more worried about the state of the driving and the roads tbh. I am very glad that we hired in both places we stayed at and would recommend doing that if you can. Parking will be a challenge as we found even in the car in a number of places. Drop me a PM on the Conversations tab if you want my info on the places we stayed at etc.
