and was wondering what is the best oil to use?

cheers J.

P.S I would like to say a Big thank you to all of the help you guys have given me on this good site!. Thanx. ;)

Hi J,

If it is an oldish m/home with a good few miles on the clock, then fully synthetic oil might be best avoided.

If you have the handbook, just follow the manufacturers recommendation. Although any decent brand of the same viscosity will do (including semi-synthetic.

If you go to the Euro Car Parts website, they ask you to fill in your vehicle details and when you search for oil, it should bring up the correct grade. You need not buy from them, just get the info. However, their prices are not bad and they stock a lot of spares for Fiats.

Hope this helps.

God help us all.

35 years on this site & that’s the first bit of information
From old Mainwaring that is of use to me. I did not know about the Euro car parts site.

THANKS ------------- That hurt.

Yes it is useful Dexy.

You can either get your Personal Assistant to order online.

or send the Butler to one of the many branches.

I have no idea what Old Arthur is doing at the moment, but the minute the little

chap is free I will send him round to local store with a £5 note & my order.

I don't know what you folks might have to say about this post regards diesel oil. I put the cheapest diesel oil which I buy from Lidl, cost £8.99 or from B&Q at 10% off for £7.79. all 5L canisters. I change my oil twice a year, even if it does not need changing. I do the same with my car.

the answer to the oil problem is ,if you have a high milage engine then any diesel oil will do as the engine more than likely will use some oil anyway try your local supermarket and use ther own brand .i use asda there own brand oil is cheap and perfectly ok there are too many false claims that expensive is best and for high performance high stressed engines this may be true and castrol one is the best for petrol types, but a common old low stressed diesel engine then your cheapo sort will do fine and keep up with the oil changes

It all depends on the year of your van but it is usually 10W40 semi senthetic for the modern motorhome.
Hope this helps:rolleyes:

Correct deisel oil

If you want to treat your motorhome I would recommend FUCH TITAN GTI 5W 40.

cheers guys .

i guess with the cost of living today and bloody fuel price's' then ill go and av a look in the local supermarkets ! (pick some beer up as well!) lol ;)
