Hi everyone.
I have a fiat ducato 2.8D. when going on long trips, and when checking rad filler bottle, it is always empty, even though the temp never goes into red. could anyone have idea of whats happening.

it could be the radiator cap leaking pleasure and loosing it through steam or a slightly loose pipe clip

Try filling it up and then start the engine with the cap off.
If you see bubbles forming in the header tank its the head gasket

Hi, got a 2.8jtd, when we picked it up it had a leak which was hard to find. It was at the back of the engine low down a pipe had perished, run your motor, put some paper underneath. Might not be the problem but worth a try!
Hope you get it sorted quickly:D

I would take it to a garage and get the cooling system pressure tested and get them to do a chemical head gasket test. They should also be able to test the filler cap.
