cooking oil in a ducato

I have a 2.5l fialt ducate diesel, can i mix diesel and cooking oil together to run it?
This question is quite urgent so any answers will be gratefully received

You would be better off going onto some of the Veg.Oil websites
The only thing that I know about Veg Oil is that it does not like Lucas CAV pumps although there is now a very expensive conversion available
Most people start at a 10% mix and then try 20%. Others are lucky and are able to run on a 100%

The older style of engines are ok for 20-30% oil to diesel, but the later high pressure common rail engines will not tolerate the thicker veg oil... especially in winter.

Cooking oil in a Ducato

I have tried it in a 1/4 mix of oil to diesel and the van seems to be running better than ever!!!! Much smoother and more power?????
I also gave the engine a dose of Millers diesel treatment, a bit expensive but well worth it.

Have I not read on this site somewhere that somebody was having problems with a newly bought S/H motor home and suspected that cooking oil had been used sometime in the past?
