Confused between the wildcamping and the motorhomer site?
Just want to know if I can park up at Whitby or not?
Unsure which site I am supposed to ask what on?
Apologies if I am being very stupid!

Motorhomer is for organised events not wildcamping so this is the right site to ask on.

I cant answer about Whitby though, from what I have read in other posts it is a bit of a no go area for wild camping but wait and see if anyone can give a better answer :)

You can park 2 miles out of Whitby on the A169 Pickering Road two carparks at bluebank great views from there.

As Annie said vans are not permitted. To park overnighting in Whitby but you can at the sea life centre Scarborough if that’s any help

We parked on the Pickering Road and I can confirm that the views are amazing, much better than the car park in Whitby.

Thanks for your replies, very much appreciated.
Whitby obviously still off the menu.
Think I will go to Huttoft instead.
Happy weekend folks & thanks again.

A lot will depend on size of your van, if it only takes the space of a car and can fit under any height barriers you can still park there in the day.

Have they put the height barrier back and what are these parking bays lol.

No idea Annie, it was a generic car park comment, smaller vans can fit in a single bay that we can’t so may get away with parking where we wouldn’t dontcha know :)

There are no bays at Hutoft and the barrier as been down for the past 2 years to my knowledge the only problem I can see for the longer vans is grounding when you go over the hump before you get onto the parking area that’s why I haven’t been in this van .

Are we talking about different things Annie, I was meaning taking a van into the town itself and using parking there during the day not where you said stop overnight? Not been to Whitby for years but assumed they would have a car park or two with bays marked out that smaller vans can fit in one space. Yes I do know what assume means ha ha

You quoted the ops Hutoft post so I assumed that’s what you were referring to lol

Good job you didn’t know me when I drank :)

Whitby parking

You should also check out the carparks overlooking robin hood's bay quieter than blue bank and with better veiws:dog:

I live near Huttoft bank in Lincolnshire. There are no barriers anymore BUT the council still get arsey about people overnighting like Whitby so I dont think its worth the hassle. But its up to you if you want to chance it..

It's many years since I was kicked out of the Latin class, but I reckon it's "fora"......

To visit Whitby in the day

Why not use the P&R here.
Google Maps

We have a 6.5m MoHo and there was good space on one of the upper levels.

Overnight as has been suggested Blue Bank
