G:)reat piece of kit. Had ours for over a year and use it all the time, great for chicken. Unlike a barby you can leave it to cook without the worry of burning.

Cobb cooker.

Hi there. I was in Australia for 5 weeeks ib Feb and went camping, Cobbs are very big over there and I have seen and tasted food from them, Excellant taste and meat very moist, Was going to buy one over there but was limited to weight in my luggage. But what I did bring back was some recipes and if I can dig them out will send them to you, Did you buy the compressed coconut shell they use for burning as they are better than briquetttes, so I am told, Hope you have fun with it, The best recipe is what you fancy to eat, if it works then all good if not try something else. Trial and error is my motto.

Good luck with it anyway.

Ps. type cobb recipe in google and see what happens.

Bigboack..

Not got a cob but you might be interested in some fuel blocks that home and bargain have for sale i think they are made for the cob they are like fan shaped blocks that you light in the middle and you can cook on them in 15minutes they last around 2hours and are great for a quick bbq seen them on ebay £10 for 4 blocks home and bargain do them 5 for £1.99 they are called 1-2-3 miracle blaze

Our friends have one and have cooked a full chicken in it! These were made for boats initially (run cold on the outside so you can cook on deck) so you may have more luck on a boating website - just a thought!

I have one, it is basically a compact and portable oven. Although it is charcoal fired, you don't get a BBQ flavour as the fat is channelled away from the heat beads so no smoke. Having said that, I always take mine camping as we don't have an oven in the campervan. Great for pizzas, jacket spuds and roasting joints of meat. It burns for a long time on just a few heat beads so economical to run. Not for quick meals, but you can put food on it and go off for a few hours and come back to a meal ready to eat.

Had one for years, it was originally invented in South Africa & the idea was to provide a cooker for third world countries see story here COBB HISTORY not for boats. Made a handy heater for the van on cold nights but make sure you have some ventilation (not for any smell but for carbon monoxide)
As we have an oven in our van we have switched to using a cadac Safari Chef (basically can cook the same as the Cobb using the griddle but using gas & much cheaper to buy).
I have loads of recipes I downloaded if I find them I will post them for others to download.
Just noticed the max file size for a zip file is 97.7 KB & the file I have is almost 5 mb  they are an assortment of PDF & DOC files but they are limited to smaller file sizes:confused: I can email to a few if they want to PM me but would like to put them on for anybody to get.
