Club membership difficulty

Hi,

We're planing a two weeks motorhome at the UK and I'm trying to purchase a membership within Join The Camping and Caravanning Club - The Camping and Caravanning Club

I can't remember when was my last time, trying so hard to purchase anything on-line.

I've wrote them I'm an overseas and need to purchase with credit card, but it looks like they have an issue with their site.

I'll talk to them on Monday but I wonder if my choice is worth waiting, or is there a good alternative for searching and ordering a motorhome camping site?

Thanks,
Ziv

Hi Ziv, If you're planning to use campsites for the two weeks have you looked at ukcampsite.co.uk ?
May be worth a look as its a free alternative (no membership)
Good luck and enjoy your visit to the UK

Why not join the Caravan and Motorhome Club? I am a member of both. Both are fine but when you book with the Caravan and Camping Club you have to pay a deposit when booking. With the other you just book with no deposit and there are various (non financial) penalties if you do not notify them of a cancellation at least 24 hours before arrival. Great system if you change your travel plans. Bob.

An overseas membership should be possible online, but if you can't get it sorted before you come you can join at the first C&CC site you go to. Most C&CC sites can fit you in wothout booking. Most CMC sites are booked up way in advance.
Enjoy your trip.

Don't worry about joining, just work out where you want to visit in the UK, and go the wild camping route, you'll save a fortune, or check the internet for sites nearby and ring direct. Hope you have a great trip, there's lots of wonderful places to visit.

Yes, but if OP doesn't want to wild camp, then he should be made aware that savings on sites are £10 - 15 per day for members

Thank you all for your insights.

My personal approach is to find a camping site as I go, but I know my daughters (5&9), will be exited if the camping will have some playgroung and/or ducks to feed.
We do have a preferation for electricity hook-up and a draught beer, so it will be nice to know you have a reserved place, just to avoid the hassle of vacancy issue, especially if you chose to squeeze the day (not our first choice).

That said, I'm not too keen to work on a daily basis, finding a camp site.

At 2015 we traveled at Germany and Switzerland, using the ACSI on an iPad. The ease of use, searching based on rank, facilities, price, location and sending an email to book, was a click away.

All in all it took me 5 minutes a day, to book a camp site for the following day. It was brilliant!
