We bought a new Clarke generator which failed after 3 months, we took it back to the supplier who exchanged it for another. This also failed after 2 months & we returned this for an exchange. The supplier said there was nothing wrong with the generator & told us to try again. After several weeks, we returned the generator once again, & exchanged it for a KOWASAKI, We have used this for 4 years, without a hitch. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but personally I think the Clarke brand of goods is very poor. We have also had experience with a grden pump made by Clarke, which lasted only one season. We should have had more sense than to buy anything from these manufacturers.

clarke tools are a product for machine mart so i would pop in to them first !
i've had and still got tools from them and no problems.

the staff i have always found helpful and knowledgeable too. if you look on mm site you might be able to d/l a manual
