Our Fifer is based on a Citroen Relay and we are wondering if anyone with a similar vehicle has fitted a curtain on the open sliding side door for keeping flies out and for a bit of privacy.

If so, how did you go about it?

Thanks

whitevanwoman has a transit with a door curtain my relay curtain fit on the inside of the van and is not attached to the door so would suggest that you ask wvw how she has hers done as it seem like that is what you need

We bought one of those spring loaded curtain poles from Wilinsons, about £2.50, some mosquito netting and hold it on with hair clips. The ones that look like bulldog clips but serrated - kind of :) Pole above door on inside, netting hangs down to steps, does the job, cheap as chips. We stow the netting in those daft string bag things above habitation door when we're not using it.

Reimo do a Taylor made fly screen for Relay side door, but it costs 100s of pounds! You can view it in the Reimo catalogue together an idea ,then make your own.

I saw a advert on TV for JML flyscreens at Asda and other stores and thought it might do for our Fiat sliding side door but haven't got around to seeing it yet it has a seam in the middle which you see a dog running thru in the Ad and it reseals itself behind let us know if you see one and think its any good

Fly screen

The JML fly screen will be of a size to fit a standard house door frame, I also saw the advert last night, but you could buy two and stitch them together to cover the extra width of your sliding door.

I will be having a look for my self when I spot them in the shops.

Squibby.

In our van a Adria Twin I've put a sheet of clear perspex across behind the hob sheltering the hob and making the door opening smaller it fitted easily with just 3 screws in bottom to keep it in place and up behind over hob cupboards giving it a slight curve. would have put pic if I could figure out how

On my travels I've seen a couple of vans using black gathered voile. Not sure how it was fitted, but it looked quite private and trendy, if that's your thing.

Yup ,black slot top voiles ,a few quid from B&M and and a compression type expandable pole ;)
Warning though !! Will not keep out noseeums ( sp? ).but then not much does tbh.....
