We are in love with all things French including old French cars. The car that's giving us the "hots" at the moment is the iconic Citroen DS. We are trying to find one that is a suitable case as a restoration project.Have any members including those who dwell in France got one they want to sell ? Or know of one for sale?Distance no object for the right car.
In the first instance please send me a private message and we can talk.
Many Thanks

I would suggest that your best first move would be to join the Citroen Car Club. Not only will you hear about cars available but more importantly will access people with great experience of the DS.
There are plenty of pitfalls out there and plenty of expensive mistakes to make, which can be avoided with the right advice.
I agree that the DS is a wonderful car.

As wedl as the ccc there is the traction avant owners clunb

A call to 9itroen in slough will yield other owner clubs.

I always wanted a spinb in the SM, the later cxs are good value, arguably the last Citroen before they became mass market
Channa

My father had a DS and Safari estate, drove like a hovercraft on the road especially motorways. I has a 2CV and the the 'sporty' Dyane after finally having a GS estate then they started using Mcpherson strut suspension and ruined a perfect ride.

We had two DS estates in succession - wonderful cars and brilliant for camping in. Oh, now I'm going all nostalgic - those headlights that saw round corners, the button brake that went 'psssst!' then ejected passengers through the windscreen (seatbelts? what seatbelts?) and the deep comfy padding everywhere. Mmmm!

They did rot though....hope you can find a sound base for your project. Good luck!

Yep.
Did look at one that had been "" restored "" very badly. So still looking for one to work on ourselves.

I saw an as new yellow estate once that was a work of art,had a 'trois chevaux 'for a while in france,i like them !

You could combine it with the motorhoming. Just stick a caravan body on the back of this if it comes up for sale.
