Ci Camper - Battery problem and Fix/Go repair kit

Hi everyone

We just purchased a 2008 Ci Mizar which was a private sale .....we love the van already but the Utility Battery appears shot so i want to replace for a new 100Mah .....I know what to do this but does anyone on here know where the special tool for lowering the Utility Battery down is located in the van .....this goes through a hole in the side of the van and is for winding down a cage which houses the battery .....I also believe that the van comes with a fixandgo repair kit instead of a spare tyre .....does anyone know where this might be located as all the useless Manual says is in the Cab .....if anyone on here is a Mizar owner it would be nice to make contact on here ....thanks in advance sorry if the questions are a bit basic
thanks

Welcome

Hi,

Welcome to the site - sorry I am unable to help but someone will eventually be along. Seems quite quiet at the moment = the hangovers will eventually pass and then they will be back I am sure.

Do let us know where you are based, who are 'we'?

Weez are based in a very cold snowy Angus and there are four generations of us who all go wilding.

CI owner but not a mizar, I too have had and fwiw continue to have leisure battery problems..and a spare wheel problem albeit mine is not a get you home mallarkey.

I am not sure if anyone will pop along and share wisdom, But worry not. It is all part of the learining curve as they say.

I am pretty sure you will fall in love with the mizar even the frustrations, and the places you visit and the memories will far outweight the negatives.

Have fun, happy camping and welcome aboard.

If you can find space, ditch the puncture repair outfit and get a spare tyre and jack.

That is my humble opinion anyway. If the wheels are 15" then you will get a rim no bother, maybe even with a good tyre on it from a scrap yard.

BTW, welcome to the forum. :D

I have to agree, as much as the sales people expound the virtues of get me home kits etc there is a proviso they forget to tell you.

Puncture kits are only any good on a tyre flattened by a puncture to a part of the tyre that has contact with the road surface.

What I mean is if you get a slashed tyre in the sidewall you are proverbially up the Khyber. And to my knowldedge there isnt a get me home kit than can cope with this.

If you have a spare wheel..at least you can move on and get the affected tyre repaired at your leisure.

My thoughts are normally reprehensible but hopefully coherent on this occasion

I used to own a Berlingo which I believe your 'van is based on. There were storeage compartment everywhere. Have you looked under the front seats or in the two floor holes just behind the front seats?

Hope this helps.
