Christmas in somerset

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a few places around Somerset or Wiltshire, either for free camping or on a reasonably priced site, from boxing day to new years day.

If you just want a place to stop then try this place. very very basic. This is the only address and contact that I have.

http://www.caravancampingsites.co.uk/somerset/somerset.htm might be worth a look. Wildcamping in Somerset is nearly impossible I found in September and ended up on a CC. site near Chard. Problem also is that most close over winter....maybe someone lives in the area and can advise?

Somerset View Caravan Park (North Petherton nr Bridgwater) is open all year round and is reasonably priced, you can always haggle a cheaper price per night as they are never busy in the winter.
Its a small site with a new shower block but no bar, has some pitches that are used by full timers. I've stayed there on & off myself when i was full timing.

Also directly by the entrance of this site is a huge layby that is a good distance from the road, many times i've seen motorhomes wilding it there... although be aware that trucks also park up for the night there occasionally, so you could have a truck with a fridge unit running all night if you're unlucky.

I see campers wildcamping on the seafront at Burnham-on-sea most days now,,also in the large laybys on the A38 between Weston-super-mare and Burnham,,Also theres wildcamping on the carpark over looking Lynton & lynmouth..
