Cheap Tracker for your Motorhome

Have one in my motor, top feature is NO monthly costs at all. Once you bought the box for less than £100 nothing more to do. It uses HAM packet radio (internet for radio) to transmit. So as long as it has power you can track it.

The kit is available here --> Byonics - TinyTrak4 GPS Position Encoder

And once you have it running you can track your motor anytime here --> OpenAPRS - Google Maps APRS.

Really good piece of mind knowing you can always find out where your MH is.

Hide the tracker someplace along with a small 12v battery UK DC 12V 6800mAh Li-ion Super Rechargeable Battery Pack for CCTV Cam+UK Plug | eBay that will run it for a week or so, that way even if the thieves disconnect the battery thinking they disabled your normal alarm/tracker it will still be broadcasting its location.

You will find that you will need to have an Amateur Radio licence to use one though!

I bought a TK-103 about 3 years ago - cost about £35 back then (only £23 these days from amazon/ebay) and I just can't say enough good things about it.

Bought one for the bike and now another for the van - both seem completely reliable. Not yet managed to stow the van anywhere that it couldn't get a signal, including overnight inside a garage workshop. It's acurate i'd say to around 10m(ish).

Basically all you need is a PAYG sim card for a tenner and your done.

You can also hook up the door light circuit to it so it acts as an alarm.

Can't see it being worthwhile to study and pass an exam for a licence to operate amateur radio just to use a vehicle tracker when there are so many other options available.

That's what I need to find the van when I come out of the Ram on a Saturday night.
