Looking for a cheap inverter for occasional use Argos have sold out of the 500w £20 one. They are still advertising it though even though they have none left, they have been done for this in the past, its annoyng!
Any ideas?
Just really for laptop, playstation charging etc

Try NETPCDIRECT - I got mine from there a couple of years ago, powers the laptop etc etc, I think it was about £15/

we have 2 types of inverters .. the e-can which is great for just charging, it does have a small coiled lead which can be a bit awkward to stretch out, also has a usb charge on there for ipods etc, it's also reasonably quiet .. we used this one when we went camping (tent) earlier in the year attatched to the car and watched a film on my laptop while being all cosey in our tent lol

the other we have is a 600w which we used for a 240v tv this one has quite a loud fan with it and cuts off when the battery goes down about half way, we do have a 12v tv now so it does last a lot longer lol

don't know if that helps at all

Thanks for the tips and links.
Went to the not so local carboot this morning and saw an 150w inverter brand new in the box, every one picking it up and putting it down as its still sealed and the lady wanted £2 for it but the box shows it to have a continental mains out let.
I thought well I have the bits to make an adaptor so bought it.
Gets back to the car and found the one in the box has a UK socket in it so a bargain, I will see how we get on with this for now as its only really for phone and PSP charging incase of emergencys
